Everything you need to know about CAP preparation for the CAT 2026 cycle
The IIM Common Admission Process (CAP) is a shared shortlisting and interview process for a group of newer IIMs. Candidates who meet the common cutoff attend one interview that counts for all member IIMs they are shortlisted by. In CAP 2026 (the 2026-28 batch, after CAT 2025) the members were IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu and IIM Sirmaur, with an offline PI coordinated by IIM Bodh Gaya. We could not find an official CAP 2027 notice on September 29, 2026, so the members for the CAT 2026 cycle are not confirmed.
IIM Bodh Gaya's notice of January 21, 2026 lists these total percentiles: General 90, EWS 75, NC-OBC 75, SC 60, ST 38 and PwD 38, with sectional cutoffs of 65 for General, 50 for EWS, 45 for NC-OBC, 40 for SC, and 25 to 30 for ST and PwD. Women and transgender candidates had lower totals (General 85). The policy had shown 95 for General as a reference before results, and the final figure was 90. CAP 2027 cutoffs will come after the CAT 2026 results and are not known yet.
Not announced. CAT 2026 results are tentatively due in the first week of January 2027. Last cycle, the CAP 2026 cutoffs were published on January 21, 2026, and the interviews were held offline afterwards. A similar pattern is expected but not confirmed. For the 2026-28 batch, IIM Bodh Gaya's policy gave 50% to the CAT score, 25% to the personal interview and 25% to profile (15% academics and 10% work experience). Each member IIM has its own policy, so read the policy of every IIM you are shortlisted by.
